About

My initials are KD. When I used to be an amateur storm chaser, I called into the radio or TV stations, and they recognized my voice. One of the station reps knew me and started calling me KD Storm, and the others followed suit. I started using the name for writing as well, translating it to the pen name Katie Storme. I wrote about my misadventures I’ve had while traveling. The moniker seemed to stick when someone would ask what has Katie been up to?

I grew up on a pecan (pi-kahn’) farm in Oklahoma. Side note: (pee’-kan) is the alternate pronunciation, but we only used pee cans when our indoor plumbing was not working properly.  🙂

I have lived in OK, CA during the summers as a child, TX, KS, MO, VA, and NC. The states I have visited the most and not lived in are CO, AR, and SC. I am a Southerner and an OU Sooner football fan.

My faith is very important to me; I believe Jesus Christ is the only way of Salvation.

After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said,“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you. For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.” John 17:1-5 NLT

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NLT

I have been writing since I was in elementary school. I started with poetry, then short stories. Later, I wrote Op Eds for my college newspaper, where I was asked to be the Editor and served in that capacity short term.  I wrote extensive research papers as a pre-med major, which I enjoyed. I love research and finding out the details of historical data and empirical evidence; but know that both can be disproven at times. I’m not so rigid that I’m set in stone about anything except my faith and what the Holy Spirit has revealed to me. My mother was a published author and I come from a family of authors with works in the Library of Congress. (Please don’t hold me to that standard.) I am a free-lance writer, artist, gardener, and photographer of nature, architecture, and people. I love to cook, bake, sew, refurbish furniture, and follow the weather, especially storms.
